Our Eskimo Artifacts were excavated from the ancient Yupik Eskimo villages and traditional hunting camp sites, some of which are dated up to 10,000 years old, on St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea. Eskimo people known as Siberian Yupik have used ivory for their tools and utensils for over 5,000 years. Years of burial have given these ivory and bone pieces a variety of colors. These pieces were hidden from the world for centuries, and only now are they being unearthed, excavated by the direct descendants of the Siberian Yupiks that first worked the materials.
